“The Eucharist is my highway to Heaven.” - Blessed Carlo Acutis
This June, the Church prepares to canonize one of the most extraordinary young witnesses of our time: Blessed Carlo Acutis. Here at Tabella, we’re inviting you, and your whole community, to join us in a 9-day Novena beginning June 4th, leading up to his canonization on June 13th!
Who Was Blessed Carlo Acutis?
Born in London on May 3, 1991, to Italian parents, Carlo grew up in Italy and showed a deep love for the Catholic faith from an early age. He famously referred to the Eucharist as his “highway to Heaven”, and his devotion was the driving force of his short but radiant life.
By the age of nine, he was already coding and building websites. He used his skills to create a digital archive of Eucharistic miracles from around the world, hoping to help others fall in love with the Eucharist just as he had.
A Modern Saint for a Modern World
In 2006, at just 15 years old, Carlo was diagnosed with leukemia. He accepted his illness with grace, offering his suffering for the Pope and the Church. He passed away on October 12, 2006. In 2020, he was beatified by Pope Francis, and this year, in 2025, he will be officially canonized by Pope Leo XIV.
