For Fr. Jesús Salinas, LC, his path has taken him from the bustling streets of Mexico City to the heart of Cincinnati, Ohio, a Legionary of Christ priest with a passion for evangelizing families and youth.

A Calling Discovered Early

Born and raised in Mexico City, Fr. Jesús first encountered the Legionaries of Christ at his school, Instituto Cumbres, entering the Legionary novitiate in Connecticut at 18.

Trusting God in the Face of Challenges

”There were times I thought, ‘I’m not good enough for this,’” Fr. Jesús admitted, but a holy card featuring the Child Jesus with the word “trust” reaffirmed his trust in God’s plan.

Life as a School Chaplain

Now five years into his priesthood, Fr. Jesús serves as chaplain at Royalmont Academy in Cincinnati. “My favorite part of the day is greeting each student in the morning.”

Strength in Community

”We were made for relationships,” he said. “Isolation can lead to struggles, but surrounding ourselves with holy friendships and a strong support system can make all the difference.”

Advice for Discerners

”When we trust God and take that leap, He carries us. We’re not alone. He’s with us every step of the way.”
