A Life Rooted in Faith
Father Daniel grew up in the farmlands of Iowa, the fourth of eight children. At just five, he approached his dad and said, “I think God wants me to be a priest.”
Following the Call
At 17, a brochure from the Legionaries of Christ reignited the embers of a call to the priesthood. In 1993, he entered the novitiate, and was ordained in 2007.
A Priest’s Journey Through Trials
Shortly after ordination, the double life of the Legion’s founder, Father Marcial Maciel, came to light. “It was a time of existential crisis,” Father Daniel admits, but prayer before the Blessed Sacrament brought clarity and peace.
Living as a Wounded Healer
”My role is to be a lighthouse,” he says. “To point others to safe harbor, away from the rocks, and to Christ’s saving love.”
